The five steps to creating clean water through Low Impact Development (LID) reduce stormwater runoff, improve water quality in our streams and increase developer profits are:
|
(1) Conserve sensitive lands
(2) Minimize pavement and building footprints
(3) Disconnect stormwater flow from underground stormwater systems
(4) Infiltrate rainwater into groundwater through rain gardens and bioretention filters
(5) Educate, maintain and enforce
